Team Leader Water & Wastewater (Uralla Shire Council)

About the Role Uralla Shire Council is seeking a Team Leader Water and Wastewater to lead a small, dedicated team delivering essential services to our community. The role is a hands‑on leadership position responsible for the safe, reliable and compliant delivery of Council’s water and sewer services. The leader will supervise daily operations, support the team, and oversee the maintenance and performance of critical infrastructure including treatment plants, pump stations, and distribution networks. Working closely with the Manager Water and Wastewater, the role will contribute to capital works, asset management planning and continuous improvement initiatives to ensure sustainable service delivery. Responsibilities
- Supervise daily operations, ensuring safety, reliability and compliance with regulations.
- Lead and develop a small team, fostering teamwork and professional growth.
- Oversee maintenance and performance of treatment plants, pump stations, and distribution networks.
- Collaborate with the Manager on capital works, asset management, and continuous improvement initiatives. Qualifications and Experience
- Certificate III in Water Industry Operations and Sewer Operations (or equivalent).
- Demonstrated experience in water and wastewater operations and maintenance.
- Proven ability to lead teams and manage competing priorities.
- Solid understanding of compliance requirements, including Australian Drinking Water Guidelines.
- Experience delivering maintenance programs and overseeing infrastructure works.
- Current MR licence and relevant tickets (or willingness to obtain). What We Offer Annual salary range: $83,985 to 89,861 plus super depending on skills and experience.
- Sign‑On Bonus: $5,000
- Retention Bonus: $5,000 (paid annually as a lump sum, subject to performance)
- Market Loading: $5,000 (paid hourly, subject to satisfactory performance)
