What you'll be doing

As a Rotational Clinical Pharmacist at Royal North Shore Hospital, you will provide high‑quality clinical pharmacy services across a range of inpatient settings, supporting secure and effective medicines use for patients within Northern Sydney Local Health District.

You will deliver patient‑centred pharmaceutical care, including medication reconciliation, clinical review, dispensing, medicines information and education, in line with NSW Health standards, policies and protocols.

Working as part of a large, experienced pharmacy team, you will be supported by and learn alongside pharmacists with specialised expertise across a broad range of clinical services.

You will actively participate in multidisciplinary teams, contributing to ward rounds, clinical reviews and patient education to support shared decision‑making and optimal health outcomes.

Throughout your rotations, you will be supported to develop your clinical knowledge and professional judgement through access to supervision, mentoring, and structured learning. You will participate in quality improvement activities, and performance development, with opportunities to contribute to education and research activities according to your experience level. People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background are encouraged to apply. Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
- Must hold registration with the Pharmacy Board of Australia.
- Describe a recent patient case where you identified and resolved a clinically significant medication problem. In your response, include the clinical setting, patient context, issue identified, resources utilised, actions taken to resolve the issue and patient outcome.
- Describe a specific shift where you managed competing clinical and operational demands. In your response, explain the setting and key pressures, the priorities you chose and why, and provide examples of a tasks you delayed or delegated. Describe a task where you sought support or recognised your limits and outline the overall outcome. Describe a specific quality improvement or practice change activity you were personally involved in. In your response, explain the problem identified and how it was recognised, your direct role and actions, the stakeholders you worked with, and the change implemented. Outline any measurable outcomes or feedback and describe one key learning and how it influenced your practice.
