We are a growing construction services company seeking a detail-oriented and organised Office/Accountant Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in supporting the administration team by managing financial records, processing transactions, and assisting in day to day operations. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the development of a growing construction company while ensuring smooth day-to-day operations and also having the opportunity of learning new skills on the job. The main qualities we are looking for are enthuisasm, willingness to learn current things, positive attitude, and a proactive approach to tasks. All other skills will be taught on the job. Key Responsibilities: Maintain and update financial records. Process invoices, receipts, and payments. Assist in preparing monthly financial reports. Support payroll processing and ensure compliance with relevant regulations. Track and manage accounts payable and accounts receivable. Assist with budget preparation and cost management. Provide financial support and address inquiries from the administration team as needed. Ensure all financial records are up-to-date and in compliance with accounting standards. Answer phone calls, emails, and other communications, directing inquiries to the appropriate department. Place orders and deal with suppliers. Keep track of the employees on the construction sites and their hours. Requirements: The following are helpful but not mandatory. We are an organisation that likes to teach people and allow new employees to grow into their roles. Previous experience in an administrative or financial support role, preferentially in the construction field. Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., Xero, MYOB). Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word). High attention to detail and accuracy in financial tasks. Ability to manage multiple tasks and thrive in a fast-paced environment. Strong organizational and time-management skills. A positive, proactive attitude with excellent communication skills. This job is a varied role that offers a blend of financial, office and administrative responsibilities, making it a great fit for someone looking to learn new skills while contributing to an ever growing organisation while supporting the overall operational success.
