Watch a short video here: We are seeking a highly driven and hands on Flight Assembly Supervisor experienced in a similar Assembly, Manufacturing, Production position to join our high-performance Flight Catering team based at Perth Airport on a full-time basis. More about this role: The primary responsibility of this role is to oversee and manage all assembly and packing operations within the Commercial Kitchen and Production areas. Leading diverse multi-functional teams, you will bring the best out of people and ensure we meet our daily and weekly customer targets. In a nutshell, your main responsibilities are:
- Supervise multiple areas within the Production facility and direct teams of Leading Hands and Catering Attendants.
- Ensure that all flights are meticulously packed according to the specified standards and promptly delivered to the dispatch fridge.
- Accountable for minimising wastage by monitoring, improving & managing workflows
- Recommend improvements to each Department Manager where necessary.
- Provide strategic support, and advice to the Senior Operations Leadership Team.
- Efficiently Roster as per the baselines to ensure business requirements are met.
- Investigate, analyse and implement corrective actions to resolve assembly issues.
- Carry out additional duties as may be reasonably requested by the Executive Chef and/or Senior Management.
- Understand and regularly utilise our internal and external systems and data software
- Attend all production planning meetings as required
- Contribute to the Master Production Schedule (MPS) when and as required
- Ensure employees are trained as per the business training matrix and schedule.
- Lead and participate in dnata safety programs, including toolboxes talks, safety stand downs, safety meetings and other safety initiatives. What do you need to be successful in securing this role?
- Demonstrated success in a similar role, min 2 years in supervisor or leadership
- Strong resource planning skills with a demonstrated ability to create effective & efficient rosters for a large team.
- Previous experience with LEAN or SIX SIGMA project skills would be an advantage.
- Previous experience managing more than 30 frontline staff.
- A strong commitment to Food Safety and Compliance.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Previous experience in a commercial kitchen environment preferred but not essential.
- As you will be working in the Aviation Services industry, you will be required to obtain a clear National Police Check. What’s in it for you?
