With ongoing investment in materials capability and production systems, we are strengthening our production leadership structure within the Compounding Division to support increased operational complexity, efficiency and growth. The Role Reporting to the General Manager, the Production Manager is responsible for planning, organising, directing, controlling and coordinating all upstream compounding activities, including production planning, batching, mixing and raw material control. This role manages a defined and critical function within the Compounding Division, with full accountability for:
- Production planning and scheduling
- Material preparation and batching accuracy
- Raw material utilisation and cost performance
- Upstream production efficiency and readiness The position operates with a high level of autonomy and decision-making authority, ensuring that production plans are effectively translated into material availability and readiness for downstream processing. This role is not a support function. It is a Production Manager-level position responsible for delivering measurable business outcomes, including cost control, performance targets and operational efficiency within its function. This role operates alongside our Compounds Production Manager, with clearly defined and complementary responsibilities. This role is responsible for ensuring that all materials are correctly planned, prepared and available to enable efficient downstream production. What you’ll be doing
- Planning, organising, directing and controlling upstream production schedules based on demand forecasts, plant capacity and material availability
- Coordinating materials, labour inputs and production resources to ensure efficient batching and mixing operations
- Directing batching, mixing and material preparation activities to meet production targets, specifications and quality standards
- Taking full accountability for raw material planning, allocation, utilisation and cost performance
- Monitoring, analysing and controlling production performance, including yield, cost per batch, waste and efficiency
- Establishing production priorities, batching sequences and material flow to support downstream operations
- Ensuring material readiness and availability to enable continuous and efficient production execution
- Leading and directing operational personnel within the batching and mixing function to achieve production and performance targets
- Contributing to operational planning, budgeting and resource allocation for the compounding function
- Coordinating with the Compounds Production Manager to align upstream planning with downstream production execution
- Collaborating with procurement, quality, maintenance and technical teams to optimise production outcomes
- Driving continuous improvement initiatives to improve process capability, cost efficiency and operational performance
- Ensuring compliance with workplace health and safety, environmental and quality management systems About You
- Demonstrated experience in a Production Manager or senior manufacturing leadership role
- Proven ability to plan, organise, direct, control and coordinate manufacturing operations
- Strong experience in production planning, material control and cost management
- Background in polymer compounding, mixing, or similar process manufacturing environments
- Experience managing a defined production function with full accountability for outcomes
- Strong leadership capability, including directing teams and influencing operational performance
- Commercial and analytical mindset with a focus on efficiency and continuous improvement
- Please note: A Forklift License is required Hours
- Monday – Thursday: 6:00 am to 2:30 pm
- Friday: 6:00 am to 12:00 pm
