Based from our Lindsay Rural branch, we are seeking a Local Truck Driver on a casual basis to help us though our current busy season right up until Christmas time! This is a physically demanding position as you will be responsible for the safe and efficient loading, unloading & transportation of customer goods and merchandise to and from customer properties. Your main responsibilities will include:
- Deliver and unload merchandise to rural worksites.
- Assist in loading/unloading and load restraint as required to prevent freight movement and allow for safe transport
- Maintain logs of deliveries, obtaining signatures for deliveries made
- Communicate with warehouse or pickup point for any special instructions
- Interacting with customers in a professional manner, representing the company.
- In-store counter sales as required. What You'll Bring:
- A current HC Licence as a minimum / MC preferred
- A current forklift licence is highly regarded but not essential
- Previous experience as a delivery driver ideally in a retail workplace
- Always have a safety focus to ensure your safety, your colleagues and customers & public, along with an ongoing commitment to safe driving practices.
- Excellent customer service skills and the ability to work independently
- Be well presented, professional and reliable. To be successful for this role applicants must:
- Pass a Commercial Drivers Health Assessment including drug and alcohol test
- Provide a current traffic history report
- Have the capability to meet the physical demands of the position
- this includes getting in and out of the truck throughout the day; repetitive bending & lifting of rural merchandise when loading & unloading at the branch and on farm. What We Offer:
