Local Truck Driver - HC / MC (Brandon)

The Role We are seeking a HC Delivery Driver to join our Lindsay Rural branch in Brandon for local delivery work, on a casual basis. This is a physically demanding position as you will be responsible for the safe and efficient loading, unloading, and transportation of customer goods and merchandise to and from customer properties. Responsibilities
- Deliver and unload merchandise to rural worksites.
- Assist in loading/unloading and load restraint as required to prevent freight movement and allow for safe transport.
- Maintain logs of deliveries, obtaining signatures for deliveries made.
- Communicate with warehouse or pickup point for any special instructions.
- Interact with customers in a professional manner, representing the company.
- Perform in-store counter sales as required. What You’ll Bring
- A current HC Licence as a minimum / MC preferred.
- A current forklift licence is highly regarded but not essential.
- Previous experience as a delivery driver ideally in a retail environment.
- Always have a safety focus to ensure your safety, your colleagues and customers & public, along with an ongoing commitment to safe driving practices.
- Excellent customer service skills and the ability to work independently.
- Be well presented, skilled and reliable. Requirements
- Pass a Commercial Drivers Health Assessment including drug and alcohol test.
- Provide a current traffic history report.
- Have the capability to meet the physical demands of the position – this includes getting in and out of the truck throughout the day; repetitive bending & lifting of rural merchandise when loading & unloading at the branch and on farm.
