A rare opportunity has presented itself within Y Discovery Camps to lead a fantastic, established team, and the business operations at Lake Dewar Discovery Camp, by the picturesque Werribee Gorge, one hour west of Melbourne. This live-in role is perfect for an experienced outdoor recreation or hospitality manager, or somebody who is ready to take the next step in their outdoor recreation or hospitality management career!

**About Lake Dewar Discovery Camp** Lake Dewar Discovery Camp is an adventure camp located just 60 minutes from Melbourne, and managed by Y Discovery Camps. Nearby to the Werribee River and surrounding gorges, and catering to schools and groups year-round, the team at Lake Dewar Discovery Camp run a variety of programs and activities to suit every group, from stand-up paddle boarding, canoeing and raft building, to a relaxing spot of fishing. Featuring lakeside apartments and a plethora of indoor and outdoor facilities and full catering options, Lake Dewar Discovery Camp is a perfect place to explore the great outdoors.

**About the Role** Living onsite in the manager’s residence, the Camp Manager is the key leadership position at Lake Dewar, responsible for the business operations and development. Fostering continuous improvement and ensuring high quality outcomes across all services within the camp, the Camp Manager will liaise directly with all camp staff, department heads, clients and business partners to deliver service excellence. You will be responsible for:

- Developing, leading, delivering best practice operations and facility management with continual improvement through quality assurance
- Inspiring and motivating camp staff to deliver service excellence by promoting a culture of continuous learning, development and where personal accountability is promoted
- Ensuring that YMCA policies, procedures, work practices and standard operating procedures are being met and followed in all service departments
- Responding to client needs, concerns, complaints and resolving where necessary, as they arise and in a timely fashion
- Upholding the values of the Y at all times

This is a permanent, full-time role with an annual salary package of $108K
- $118K (including superannuation). The Camp Manager role is a live-in position, with a four bedroom house provided on site
- a reduced housing rental rate which includes utilities will be offered as part of the employment conditions.

**About You** You are a natural problem solver and people leader, with an ability to empower and lead a diverse and

dynamic staff team, and manage both internal and external stakeholder relationships with ease. You have a high level of effective time management skills, and are able to work autonomously and independently to achieve agreed outcomes. You possess industry knowledge, demonstrated business acumen, and leadership experience in a camping, outdoor recreational, or hospitality setting.

**Mandatory Pre-Requisites and Qualifications**
- HLTAID003 or HLTAID011
- Level 2 First Aid
- Current Drivers Licence

**Highly Desirable Qualifications**
- Tertiary or TAFE qualification in Outdoor Recreation, Hospitality or another associated or relevant field
- Qualifications and/or experience in a leadership role
- Formal management or business degree
