Moonee Valley Racing Club (MVRC) is the historic home of Australia’s Best Race, the Ladbrokes Cox Plate, and for the past 30 years, the best night racing in Australasia. The Club also operates a progressive hospitality portfolio including four multi-purpose entertainment venues and a flagship restaurant, and continues to look for opportunities across premium hospitality, major events, strategic partnerships and immersive entertainment experiences that drive commercial growth beyond race day. MVRC is currently embarking on a once-in-a-generation $2bn+ transformation project, focused on the development of lifestyle, recreation, and leisure spaces to create an industry-leading connected precinct that will redefine the horse racing industry.

Designed to position MVRC as one of Melbourne’s most prized sports and events destinations, the project will unlock new business and tourism opportunities while elevating the Club into a new era for generations to come. During the racecourse closure, MVRC continues to conduct race meetings under a transferred model, partnering with other race clubs, with a scheduled return to racing at The Valley’s new track in 2027. About the role Reporting to the Head of Marketing & Commercial, The Marketing Manager – Digital Lead is required to lead and deliver MVRC’s integrated traditional and digital marketing function across all brands and business units, driving customer engagement, brand growth, and commercial performance through innovative, customer-focused, and data-driven marketing strategies across:
- Hospitality Venues
- Racing Events
- Membership
- Property The role is responsible for the end-to-end delivery of marketing initiatives across traditional and digital channels, including websites, social media, email marketing, SEO/SEM, paid advertising, content marketing, CRM, loyalty, and marketing automation.

The position ensures all campaigns align with organisational objectives, brand standards, and customer engagement strategies while contributing to revenue growth and business performance. The role also oversees the integration and optimisation of digital systems and technologies, including CRM platforms, loyalty programs, AI initiatives, eCommerce integrations, and marketing automation tools, to improve operational efficiency, customer experience, and marketing effectiveness. Working collaboratively with internal stakeholders, external agencies, and technology partners, the role is responsible for campaign planning, performance analysis, reporting, and the continuous optimisation of marketing activity across all channels using data-driven insights and commercial outcomes. The position leads and mentors the Marketing Executive and Graphic Designer, fostering a collaborative, high-performing, and cutting-edge marketing team that supports MVRC’s strategic and commercial goals. A further social media role has been approved recently and will add to the team. Key responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to the following:
- Develop and lead annual marketing strategies in collaboration with Department Heads.
- Drive revenue growth, customer engagement, and profitability through targeted marketing initiatives.
- Establish campaign KPIs and monitor marketing ROI across all channels.
- Identify opportunities to improve brand visibility, customer acquisition, and retention. Campaign Management & Execution:
- Develop and execute integrated marketing campaigns across traditional and digital channels.
- Oversee campaign planning, content creation, creative production, and rollout.
- Ensure all marketing activity aligns with brand standards and strategic objectives. Digital Marketing & Content:
- Lead content strategy across all business segments and digital platforms.
- Manage digital marketing activity including:
- SEO/SEM
- Paid search
- Social media
- Display advertising
- Website content
- Improve organic search performance and website engagement.
- Support the management of owned channels including websites, eDMs, and social media. Analytics & Reporting:
- Monitor, analyse, and report on campaign performance and digital metrics.
- Use tools such as Google Analytics, Hub Spot, and CRM reporting platforms to generate insights and inform decision-making.
- Provide data-driven recommendations to optimise content, campaigns, and customer engagement strategies Paid Advertising:
- Plan, execute, and optimise paid advertising campaigns across:
- Google Ads
- Linked In
- Display and traditional media such as OOH & Radio
- Manage advertising budgets and maximise campaign performance and ROI. CRM, Automation & Digital Systems:
- Lead marketing automation initiatives and customer journey development.
- Support CRM integration projects, including Microsoft Dynamics 365 and eCommerce platforms.
- Support development of loyalty programs and AI integration initiatives to improve customer engagement and operational efficiency.
- Manage eDM campaigns and automated communications aligned to customer engagement strategies. Website and E-Commerce Management:
- Oversee website enhancement and consolidation projects.
- Manage the MVRC eCommerce store and support seamless integration between CRM and web platforms.
- Continuously improve website functionality, usability, and customer experience Leadership & Stakeholder Management:
- Lead, coach, and mentor the Marketing Executive and Graphic Designer.
- Foster a collaborative, innovative, and performance-focused team culture.
- Build strong working relationships with internal stakeholders, agencies, and technology partners. To effectively perform in the role the successful candidate must have the following skills, experience, qualifications:
- You’re a commercially minded marketer who combines creativity with analytical thinking.
- You thrive in fast-paced environments, enjoy leading people and projects, and are passionate about innovation and customer experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in digital marketing.
- Experience managing and developing marketing teams.
- Experience with CRM systems, ideally Microsoft Dynamics 365.
- Experience in hospitality, entertainment, eCommerce, or related industries is highly regarded.
- Proficiency in:
- Google Ads
- Meta Ads Manager
- Google Analytics
- Hub Spot
- Mailchimp or similar platforms
- SEO/SEM
- Website analytics
- Conversion optimisation
- Knowledge of marketing automation and customer journey mapping.
