Production Scheduler (Ballarat)

About the Role We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Production Scheduler to join our team at the Freighter Group. In this critical role, you will be the bridge between our sales demands and our manufacturing floor, ensuring that our made-to-order trailers move through the production line with maximum efficiency. Given the bespoke nature of our products, you won't just be pushing buttons; you will be solving complex puzzles daily to ensure high-quality Australian transport equipment reaches our customers on time. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain realistic production schedules for complex, made-to-order manufacturing cycles.
- Balance labour, material availability, and machine capacity to meet strict delivery deadlines.
- Work closely with the Sales, Engineering, and Procurement teams to manage lead times and design changes.
- Monitor progress on the factory floor, identifying bottlenecks and implementing real-time adjustments to the schedule.
- Provide regular updates to management regarding production status, capacity constraints, and output forecasts. Skills and Experience
- Proven experience in scheduling or planning within a heavy manufacturing or automotive setting (made-to-order experience is highly regarded).
- Strong expertise in ERP/MRP systems and advanced Excel skills.
- The ability to think on your feet when supply chain disruptions or urgent customisations arise.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills to negotiate timelines with both office-based staff and factory personnel.
