Procurement Officer (Ballarat)

gforce recruitment are seeking an experienced Procurement Officer for an ongoing temporary opportunity with a well-established organisation based in Ballarat. This role will suit a proactive and detail-oriented qualified who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can confidently manage procurement processes, supplier relationships, and purchasing administration. Key Responsibilities
- Create sourcing plans that ensure reliable supply of raw materials and components while controlling cost and risk.
- Research potential supplies, assess quality, capacity and maintain an approved vendor list.
- Monitor stock levels, manage replenishment, and identify opportunities to reduce slow-moving or obsolete stock.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with local and overseas vendors, negotiating pricing and resolving any delivery or quality disputes.
- Monitor shipments and delivery timelines to ensure an on-time supply chain.
- Address quality problems with purchased materials, collaborate with suppliers and support corrective actions. About you

- Proven experience in a procurement, purchasing, or inventory-focused role, ideally within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to manage diverse supplier relationships.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to coordinate across different departments.
