Medical Reception / Administration Assistant

About Us

First Light Healthcare is a busy, patient-focused medical practice committed to providing high-quality healthcare and occupational health services to our community. We are currently seeking a motivated and reliable Medical Reception / Administration Assistant to join our friendly and supportive team.

This role would suit someone with previous medical reception, administration, AIN, pathology collection or allied health assistant experience who enjoys a varied role and working in a fast-paced environment.

About the Role

This is a hands-on role supporting both reception and clinical administration duties across the practice. The successful applicant will work closely with our clinical and administrative team to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the clinic.

Duties include:

Reception and general administration duties

Processing occupational health and medical bookings

Results management and follow-up administration

Administering health questionnaires

Conducting preliminary medical assessments

Specimen collection, including supervision of Drug & Alcohol Testing

Audiometry testing

Spirometry testing

Invoicing and billing support

Possible procedure assisting work

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

Friendly, qualified and compassionate

Highly organised with solid attention to detail

Confident using computers and learning recent systems

Able to multitask and work efficiently in a busy environment

A strong communicator with excellent customer service skills

Reliable and able to work both independently and as part of a team

Skills & Experience

Previous experience in medical reception, administration, occupational health, AIN or similar healthcare role preferred

AIN qualifications desirable but not essential

Prior experience with audiometry, spirometry or specimen collection highly regarded

Training can be provided for the right applicant

Experience with Best Practice software desirable but not essential
