Construction Officer - Utilities Construction (Ballina Shire)

ABOUT THE ROLE Position We are offering a great opportunity for a capable and enthusiastic individual to join our Engineering Works section. Reporting to the Supervisor Utilities Construction, this position plays an important role in delivering the construction and maintenance of the Shire’s water and wastewater infrastructure. Working as part of a collaborative team, the role will assist with the construction, repair, and maintenance of vital assets across the Shire. This role offers a variety of work, including operating and maintaining plant and machinery, preparing work sites in accordance with plans and specifications, and contributing to the successful delivery of utilities construction projects. - Demonstrated understanding and experience in the construction maintenance and repair of water and wastewater infrastructure including pipelines, manholes, storage tanks, valve pits and small sewer pump stations.
- Demonstrated experience in the operation of relevant plant items (such as tipper truck, front end loader, backhoe, etc.) and basic mechanical knowledge.
- Work Safely in the Construction Industry Induction ticket (White card).
- Class C driver licence with the ability to operate manual transmission and a secure driving record.
- Working Near Overhead Power Lines ticket (or willingness to obtain)
- Traffic Controller ticket (or willingness to obtain) The rewards
- A salary range of $59,300 to $68,000 per annum (plus 12% superannuation) dependent upon skills, experience and qualifications.
