Description
The City of Canterbury Bankstown is one of the largest councils in NSW, serving a culturally, socially and economically diverse community of over 385,000 residents. We deliver 28 key services including childcare, waste collection, parks maintenance, libraries, community facilities and aquatic centres. Role We are seeking passionate, self‑motivated educators to support Council's Children’s Centres in delivering high‑quality early childhood education and care. In this role you will create a secure, inclusive and engaging environment for children to learn and grow, build positive relationships with children and families, and maintain a strong child safeguarding culture. Duties
- Ensure compliance with the Early Education and Care National Law and Regulations, including the National Quality Standards.
- Assist in the implementation of an innovative and reflective early childhood education program that reflects the principles, practices and outcomes of the National Early Years Learning Framework.
- Contribute to a collaborative team through shared learning, a positive attitude and sound communication skills.
- Foster positive relationships with children, families, colleagues and professionals, and help create a tailored curriculum that reflects each child’s strengths, needs and interests.
- Observe and document children’s learning and development using a variety of methods. Qualifications
- Diploma in Early Childhood Education
- Working with Children Check
- Identify and Respond to Children and Young People at Risk of Significant Harm
- Current Senior First Aid Certificate (including Asthma and Anaphylaxis)
- Experience in providing quality learning experiences and environments for young children
- Knowledge and understanding of child development and learning
- Knowledge and experience in implementing the National Early Years Learning Framework Salary Salary range starts at $39.46 per hour (Grade D, Step 1) plus 25% casual loading and 12% superannuation. Salary may be negotiable based on skills and experience. Benefits
