This is a full time position (7:00 am – 3:00 pm) and would suit someone who enjoys hands-on work and is willing and able to take on a variety of routine preventative and reactive maintenance tasks. The role involves performing small mechanical repairs, carpentry, fabrication, and general maintenance duties within a laboratory environment. The successful applicant will receive comprehensive on-the-job training in all aspects of routine laboratory equipment maintenance, ensuring a thorough understanding of each task while maintaining compliance with ALS HSE policies at all times. Strong communication skills are essential, as you’ll be required to liaise promptly and effectively with section supervisors and Facilities Management regarding equipment issues or downtime. This position offers an excellent opportunity to expand your skills in the maintenance and repair of a wide range of on-site equipment. The essentials
- Trade qualifications are not required; however, previous experience using power tools and equipment, either professionally or personally, is essential.
- Strong mechanical aptitude will be highly regarded.
- Welding and fabrication experience is highly regarded.
- Carpentry skills will also be highly regarded.
- Excellent work ethic and a positive attitude.
- Commitment to maintaining a strong safety culture while maximizing productivity.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, while contributing effectively as part of a team.
- Current C-class driver’s licence.
