The role you could play
We are on the lookout for a dedicated and enthusiastic Cafe Barista to join our team. As a key player in our café, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional barista coffees and beverages, ensuring each customer receives a delightful and timely experience.
Working closely with our Cafe Manager and a group of passionate volunteers, you will contribute to creating a warm and inviting atmosphere that keeps our customers coming back for more. Your key responsibilities- Ensure customers feel welcome and are given responsive, friendly and courteous service always- Prepare foods, such as sandwiches or baked goods as the Café Manager requires- Grinding and blending coffee beans, brewing coffee and tea, and serving items to customers
- ensuring consistency in high quality offerings to customers- Understand brewing methods, beverage blends, food preparation, and presentation techniques to improve food quality- Implement and complete recruitment and selection processes in a timely manner- Train and develop volunteers in all aspects of the café including cleaning, food preparation, beverage preparation, money transactions (register) and customer service- Ensure appropriate stock levels are maintained (milk, coffee beans, etc)- Clean and restock work and dining areas, emptying trash, and sanitising equipment and utensils- Ensure all equipment is kept clean and maintained in excellent working condition
This is a max-term (12 months from start date) part-time (19 hours per week) position located in Morley, WA. Salary and conditions are in accordance with the Hospitality Industry (General) Award 2020, Level 3.
You will bring- Experience as a Barista, with food handling- Experience of Secure Food Handling- Knowledge of legislated requirements under the Food and Beverages Act- A National Criminal History Check is required- Ongoing training as requested by the Corps Officer and/or Café Manager
