We are seeking an experienced and passionate Chef specializing in authentic Indian cuisine to lead and manage our kitchen operations. This is an excellent chance for a motivated culinary professional who takes pride in food quality, team leadership, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare, season, and cook a wide range of authentic Indian dishes while maintaining high standards of quality, taste, and presentation
Plan and develop menus in consultation with management, considering seasonal availability of ingredients, customer preferences, dietary requirements, and restaurant concept
Estimate food and labour costs and manage kitchen budgets to achieve financial targets
Order food supplies, monitor stock levels, and minimise wastage through effective inventory control
Inspect and select ingredients to ensure freshness and quality of produce
Demonstrate and supervise cooking techniques and advise kitchen staff on food preparation procedures
Train, mentor, and coordinate kitchen staff to ensure productive workflow and high performance
Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and workplace health and safety regulations
Monitor portion control, plating, and consistency of dishes during service periods
Develop and introduce new recipes and menu items to enhance customer satisfaction and business growth
Liaise with front-of-house management to ensure smooth kitchen operations, especially during busy service times
Handle customer feedback related to food quality and implement improvements where necessary
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas
Skills & Qualifications:
Minimum Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or higher, or an equivalent qualification
At least 1 or 2 years of experience in Indian cuisine, including strong knowledge of Indian spices and traditional cooking techniques
Position: Full time Permanent
Salary Package: $75000 – $90,000 per annum (plus superannuation)
Location: Perth, Western Australia
