Seasonal Forestry Worker - Bateman's Bay (Batemans Bay)

We're looking for passionate and motivated Seasonal Forestry Workers to join our team and assist with diverse outdoor tasks across various locations in Current South Wales. This is your chance to be part of an essential team to protect and maintain our forests. **What we can offer you**:

- Competitive remuneration with annual base salary of $62,994 including weekend penalty rates, public holidays and additional loading for fire-fighting duties
- 6 Month maximum term contract
- Intensive firefighting training program with a nationally recognised qualification
- Training in 4WD driver safety and Chainsaw use

**About the role**: As a Seasonal Forestry Worker, role will vary depending on wildfire conditions, with a primary focus on fire preparedness. You’ll be part of our fire readiness strategy and on-call for fire roster duties. Expect extended hours, shifts, or days under physically demanding conditions, and be on-call at times, depending on the fire danger levels in your location. **You’ll be involved in a variety of activities such as**:

- Manual Labour
- Bushfire fighting
- Hazard reduction burning
- Weed control
- Road and fire trail maintenance
- Building and facilities maintenance
- Vehicle and equipment upkeep
- Assisting with tree marking and ecological/cultural heritage surveys
- Heavy plant operation

**Essential skills required**:

- Demonstrated experience or skills in forestry, farming, outdoor, or construction work.
- Ability to work as part of a team, meeting deadlines and standards.
- A valid driver’s license
- provisional and above
- A positive attitude and commitment to our core values.

**Highly regarded (but not essential) Skills & Experience**:

- Truck licence (MR, HR, HC, etc.)
- Experience with heavy plant operation or chainsaws.
- Prior bushfire fighting experience.
- First aid, use of chemicals, 4WD and off road, or any other relevant competencies.
- Studying or holding qualifications in Forestry, Environmental Science, or Natural Sciences.
