Plant Mechanic Apprenticeship - Bathurst

Based in Bathurst , this program sets you up for long‑term growth opportunities—from technical roles to leadership and beyond. As a WesTrac Apprentice, you will learn how to:
- Inspect, diagnose and repair a vast range of Caterpillar Mobile Plant equipment
- Perform component overhauls and planned component change outs
- Assemble new machines to customer specifications
- Interpret schematics and technical drawings
- Service machines and write service reports
- Rebuild machines
- Safely operate workshop equipment such as forklifts, overhead cranes and tools
- Maintain a safe working environment
- Navigate Caterpillar systems to ensure all work is done in accordance with Caterpillar’s quality standards About you:
- Must be 16 years or older by December 2026
- Australian working rights (Citizen or Permanent Resident)
- Strong communication, reading and writing skills
- Genuine interest in mechanical trades, machinery or hands‑on learning
- Driver’s licence and reliable transport (or close to obtaining one) with ability to travel to work and training
- Honest, reliable and dependable
