About the role As a Sous Chef at Binna Burra Mountain Lodge , you will play a crucial role in supporting the Head Chef in overseeing the day‑to‑day operations of the kitchen. Located in the stunning Beechmont, QLD 4211 region, this is a full‑time opportunity to be part of a passionate and dedicated hospitality team delivering exceptional culinary experiences to our guests. What you'll be doing
- Assisting the Head Chef in managing the kitchen team and ensuring high standards of food preparation and presentation
- Overseeing the production of all menu items, maintaining consistent quality and efficient service
- Participating in menu planning and recipe development to align with the company's culinary vision
- Fostering a positive and collaborative work environment within the kitchen brigade
- Ensuring compliance with all health, safety, and food hygiene regulations
- Actively contributing to the ongoing training and development of junior kitchen staff
- Assisting with inventory management and cost‑control measures What we are looking for
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar senior culinary role within the hospitality industry
- Formal culinary qualifications, such as a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent
- Demonstrated expertise in a wide range of cooking techniques and the ability to create creative dishes
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with a proven track record of developing and motivating kitchen staff
- Excellent time management, problem‑solving, and communication skills
- Passion for using high‑quality, locally‑sourced ingredients and a deep understanding of food trends
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays, to meet the needs of the business What we offer
