Operations Manager - Manufacturing & Distribution (Yatala)

About the Role

Salty Captain is a quick-growing Australian-owned brand specialising in automotive, marine and outdoor cleaning products, supplying major retail and wholesale customers across Australia and the USA.

We are looking for a hands-on Operations Manager to oversee our warehouse, manufacturing and distribution operations. This is a leadership role for someone who can build systems, drive efficiency, lead teams and create a high-performing warehouse environment.

This role is not for someone who wants to sit behind a desk all day. We need someone who can lead from the front, solve problems quickly and help build a scalable operation as the business continues to grow rapidly.

Key Responsibilities
- Full warehouse and operational control across manufacturing and distribution
- Manage day-to-day warehouse operations, dispatch and production flow
- Hire, train, manage and, when required, performance manage staff
- Build strong warehouse structure, accountability and team culture
- Create and implement SOPs, systems and operational processes
- Ensure the warehouse can run efficiently even during leave, absences or busy periods
- Drive efficiency improvements across picking, packing, manufacturing and dispatch
- Reduce stockouts and improve inventory flow
- Maintain warehouse cleanliness, safety and organisation standards
- Work closely with the Supply Chain Manager to improve forecasting and stock management
- Monitor KPIs and operational performance
- Provide weekly reporting on:

- Output improvements
- Warehouse efficiencies
- Team performance
- Stock control
- Operational bottlenecks
- Actions being implemented for improvement
- Help scale operations as the company continues to expand in Australia and internationally

What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience managing warehouse, manufacturing or distribution operations
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Ability to create structure, systems and accountability
- Experience building SOPs and operational workflows
- Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities
- Forklift licence highly regarded
- Experience with inventory systems/WMS preferred
- Ability to work in a fast-paced growth environment
- Hands-on attitude with strong attention to detail
- Reliable, driven and performance-focused

Pay: $79,256.49
- $159,901.94 per year
