Mainframe/Gen Developer (Belconnen)

- Z\OS, JCL, CICS, COBOL, DB2 and REXX Our client, a very large Federal Government Organisation, whose focus is on national security, emergency management, boarder control, immigration and multicultural affairs, require the services of 3 Senior Mainframe or Gen Software Engineers (Developers) to join The Cargo & Trade Systems team. Duties of the Senior Mainframe or Gen Software Engineers:
- Lead strategic planning, mapping, and modelling development for mainframe and Gen-based applications;
- Develop high-level and detailed technical designs aligned with system requirements and standards;
- Independently construct implementations following approved standards and software design principles;
- Support System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to ensure functional quality;
- Review peer code and design to maintain high standards and security compliance. Technical Skills and Experience required:
- Significant experience in IBM Z/OS mainframe environments using languages and tools such as COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, and REXX;
- Expertise with Gen (Broadcom) development suite, including CA Gen, AllFusion Gen, CoolGen, or IEF;
- Familiarity with IET GuardIEn and model management;
- Preferred experience with Azure DevOps (Boards, Repos, Pipelines) is highly valued.
