Casual Coding Instructor (Gold Coast)

Junior Engineers is an award-winning provider of coding and STEM education for kids, and we’re currently recruiting **Casual Coding Instructors** to join our team in **Gold Coast (QLD)**. This role is ideal if you’re studying, returning to the workforce, or looking for casual work with real impact. You’ll start by supporting a Lead Instructor in class, with a clear pathway to building the skills and confidence to run classes independently.

**About the Role** As a Junior Engineers Instructor, you will:

- Support and co-supervise coding classes for children
- Gradually progress to delivering classes as a Lead Instructor
- Teach engaging, age-appropriate programming activities using our structured curriculum
- Provide feedback and simple reporting via our online portal

No prior teaching experience is required—**training and mentoring are provided**.

**Who We’re Looking For**: We’re seeking motivated, reliable people who have a genuine interest in education, STEM, technology or coding and who enjoy working with children. Proactive, patient and confident communication skills are critical to manage children, their behaviors and the class room.

You Must:

- Hold full working rights in Australia
- Obtain the relevant state based working with children checks

**Highly regarded (but not essential)**:

- Familiarity with basic programming concepts
- Experience with Scratch, Minecraft, Python, JavaScript or similar tools
- Backgrounds in Computer Science, Software, Engineering, Mechatronics, Design, or IT

**Class Times & Availability** After-school classes: Monday-Friday, 3:00-5:00pm (75 mins per class) Some morning sessions
- School holiday programs: 2-4 days, approx. 8 hours per day
- Multiple schools and days available

**Key Responsibilities**
- Assist with and deliver coding activities to students
- Arrive on time and check in at program locations
- Maintain a safe, engaging learning environment
- Complete brief class reports in the online system
- Report to the Head of Customer Success and Placements Lead
