Our Youth Employment Assistance program formerly (School Leaver Employment Supports) is more than employment preparation
- it’s about inspiring independence, building meaningful connections, and shaping current beginnings.

**The Role**

We’re looking for a compassionate and motivated Employment Consultant to join our Gold Coast team. In this role, you will guide school leavers in their transition from high school to the workforce, providing tailored, strengths-based support that builds confidence, skills, and real-world readiness.

You’ll be a mentor and advocate for young people as they explore their capabilities and pathways
- whether that’s employment, further training, or greater independence in everyday life.

**Key Responsibilities**

Deliver person-centred support to young people focusing on employment preparation and independent living skills.

Run engaging one-on-one sessions covering:

- Career exploration and goal setting
- Resume writing and interview practice
- Workplace expectations and communication
- Travel training, time management, and money handling

Design and review individualised support plans that reflect each participant’s goals and NDIS outcomes.
- Facilitate work experience and volunteering opportunities in collaboration with local employers and partners.
- Build strong, supportive relationships with participants, families, and potential employers.
- Maintain accurate documentation and progress notes.
- Actively contribute to Brighter Options’ inclusive, person-centred team culture.

**What You Bring**

Essential:

- A genuine passion for supporting young people with disability in their journey to greater independence and employment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- you can build trust and inspire growth.
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a close-knit, purpose-driven team.
- Valid Driver’s Licence, Working with Children Check, NDIS Worker Screening Check

Desirable:

- Qualifications or experience in Disability, Education, Community Services, or a related field.
- Understanding of the NDIS and commitment to person-centred, capacity-building practice.
- Experience in employment services, training, disability support, or youth engagement.
- Current first aid certificate
- Experience with youth or delivering Employment Assistance programs.
