_The Role

An opportunity has become available for a Human Research Ethics Committee Chair to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-robust team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.

You will

Provide leadership to the Gold Coast Health Human Research Ethics Committee on matters concerning research ethics and research review within HREC meetings Ensure that the committee functions in accordance with the requirements as set out in the National Statement (2007)
- Updated 2018 and in accordance with, The Australian Code for the Responsible Conduct of Research (2018), and other state, national and international policies, procedures and guidelines Chair the monthly committee meetings in an efficient, expeditious and fair manner Identify and facilitate the reporting of conflicts of interest and ensure these are managed effectively Maintain close liaison with staff supporting the committee functions to promote the effective management of the committee

About you

To be successful in this position you will require: Whilst not mandatory, clinical experience and/or skilled registration or membership with an appropriate authority will be well regarded Whilst not mandatory, a relevant qualification would be desirable Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary

Temporary part time (6 months with possibly of extension, 16 hours per fortnight Base salary ranging from $6 487.80
- $6 998.20 per fortnight (pro-rata)
