Digital Media Officer Bring technology, creativity and connection together at Somerset College. We're seeking a versatile Digital Media Officer to support and enhance audio-visual technologies across classrooms, events and our Theatre, provide friendly first-level IT support, and contribute to high-quality digital media and livestreaming experiences. If you're technically capable, enjoy problem-solving, have a desire to learn and a creative streak—perhaps with an interest in developing skills in photography and media production—you'll thrive in this energetic, hands‐on role that supports both learning and community life across the College. Responsibilities Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of AV equipment. Ensure all AV systems are operational across the College's classrooms, collaborative and event spaces. Diagnose and resolve AV system issues promptly, liaising with suppliers for repairs and/or replacement of equipment. Support staff and students with video recording, livestreaming, audio capture, podcasting, and digital media production tasks. Serve as a first point of contact for IT support requests from staff and students, troubleshoot issues involving devices, software, classroom technology, printing, and user accounts. Qualifications Sound experience and understanding of audio-visual technologies, including configuration and operation of systems for audio, visual, and livestreaming. Strong interest in acquiring knowledge of audio networking and AV control systems. Interest in developing skills to capture high-quality photographs of events and activities. Technical expertise in diagnosing and troubleshooting AV related issues. Ability to effectively work with students, colleagues and the community. Dedication to integrity, reliability, sound judgement, service and risk adversity. Qualifications at Certificate level desirable in Digital Media Technologies, or Screen and Media/Creative Industries, Live Production and Technical Services or relevant equivalent experience. Working with Children blue card or the ability to obtain. Physical fitness to work across a vibrant campus and perform manual handling tasks.
