The Opportunity We are seeking an experienced and detail‑oriented Accountant to join our Finance team in Bentley. This full‑time role is ideal for professionals with 2–5+ years of accounting experience who are looking to deepen their expertise in a multi‑entity environment and contribute to both operational and strategic financial management. You will work closely with the CFO and play a key role in financial reporting, compliance, analysis, and continuous improvement across the organisation. Key Responsibilities You will be responsible for delivering high‑quality financial and commercial support across Ozgene, including:
- Preparing, examining, and analysing financial statements and accounting records for accuracy and compliance with Australian accounting standards.
- Maintaining general ledger accounts, journal entries, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Assisting with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting across multiple entities.
- Developing and maintaining cash flow forecasts and monitoring financial performance.
- Providing financial and commercial analysis to support business decision‑making.
- Preparing and lodging BAS, Payroll Tax, and other statutory obligations.
- Assisting with FBT returns and year‑end financial statements.
- Recording and reconciling intercompany transactions and supporting group consolidation.
- Managing accounts payable and receivable, including invoicing, collections, and supplier payments.
- Processing payroll in compliance with taxation and employment legislation.
- Developing financial models for pricing, costing, and business planning.
- Identifying improvements to accounting systems, internal controls, and financial processes.
- Liaising with external accountants, auditors, and regulatory bodies. About You You will thrive in this role if you bring strong technical capability, a process‑driven mindset, and a commitment to accuracy. You have:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CA qualification or active progress toward CA accreditation.
- 2–5+ years of experience in financial reporting, multi‑entity accounting, and compliance.
- Strong knowledge of Australian accounting standards and taxation requirements.
- Proficiency with accounting systems such as QuickBooks (or similar).
- Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and organisational skills.
- High attention to detail and a continuous‑improvement mindset.
