We are seeking a motivated and skilled Grade 1/2 Dietitian (Casual) to join our multidisciplinary team.
In this role, you will deliver high-quality clinical nutrition care across a diverse acute caseload, including medical, surgical, inpatient rehabilitation, day oncology, and outpatient services. You will work autonomously, applying advanced clinical practice skills to support optimal patient outcomes.
In addition, you will contribute to teaching, quality improvement initiatives, and the supervision and mentoring of students and junior caregivers, in line with Dietitians Australia standards and SJGHC policies
This is a casual weekday position, offering versatile working hours.
The Position
- Provides a senior nutrition and dietetic service to patients/clients and or carers on an individual or group level for both inpatients and or outpatients including management of more complex patients.
- Coordinate the provision of special dietary requirements of patients/clients
- Provide consultation and support to medical, nursing, catering and allied health professionals within the Division, and external agencies, as appropriate.
- Uses expert nutritional knowledge acts as a consultant to the hospital catering service to inform menu development and compliance with the relevant hospital Nutritional standards.
- Document patients' medical nutrition therapy in the approved manner.
- Participate in multidisciplinary activities e.g. team meetings, ward rounds, or case conferences, as required.
- Participate in the delivery of education programmes within the dietetics service and for other caregiver groups.
- Develop and review dietary education resources.
- Participate in other Divisional activities as assigned. You will hold a tertiary qualification in Dietetics and be eligible for full membership with Dietitians Australia (DA) (formerly the Dietitians Association of Australia), with demonstrated Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD) status, along with experience in providing clinical education and supervision to junior staff and students.
To succeed in this role, you will demonstrate the ability to plan and implement assessments and effectively apply evidence-based practice and dietetic knowledge to patient/client management, including treatment interventions and discharge planning, at an advanced level of practice.

- Salary: $43.20 to $61.36 per hour (causal loading included) plus 12% superannuation (Grade 1)
- Salary : $61.36 to $70.12 per hour (causal loading included) plus 12% superannuation (Grade 2)
