**About the Opportunity**

Join our dynamic National Operational Compliance & Food Safety team as a Regional Operational Compliance & Food Safety Manager and help shape the future of food safety operational compliance across our Logistics, Convenience & Retail network. This position will ideally be based at Huntingwood or Crestmead Distribution Centre however will involve travel to support area of responsibility.

You’ll play a key role in maintaining and improving our HACCP Management& Food Safety Programs, supporting Metcash Site teams, Support teams and our IGA Retail Network to ensure compliance and drive operational excellence. Support National Operational Compliance Manager in achieving a robust strategic direction and progress for the Programs.

**In this Role**
- Lead the regular review, verification audits, and foster continuous improvement of Operational Compliance and food safety programs across all areas of our business
- Support quality-related certification programs including HACCP and export licensing across supported states and business pillars
- Provide expert support and guidance as SME to State Warehouse, Convenience, and Retail Operations teams on compliance, food safety, and legislative matters
- Liaise directly with State and Local authorities & legislative bodies to work through regulatory changes and industry developments
- Foster a strong food safety culture through comprehensive HACCP implementation and team engagement
- Deliver your part of cost-efficient operational compliance and retail food safety programs for Metcash-owned operations
- Provide support to ensure compliance to recall management program in collaboration with the Recalls Team

**You’re Likely a Match If**
- You thrive in a fast-paced, varied work environment
- Proven experience in Retail Operations or Independent Retail network operations
- Demonstrate extensive knowledge of food safety programs, legislative requirements and trade measurement practices within independent retail supermarket environments
- Understanding of HACCP compliance requirements across FMCG and supply chain operations
- Proven experience working with Metcash, IGA independent retailers, and logistics or retail support functions and can demonstrate an understanding of needs and support requirements
- Highly adaptable with a proactive approach to learning in a fast-paced, evolving business environment
- Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to pivot focus as needed while maintaining efficiency & detailed completion
- Strategic thinker with a track record of delivering and executing goal-driven plans
- Strong project management and stakeholder engagement skills, ability to be multi focused
- Proficient (basic to medium level) in using core business tools such as Excel, Word, and app-based platforms to support daily operations
- Strength & ability to influence stakeholders to a common direction, engage and collaborate across teams
- Team-oriented mindset with a commitment to working collectively to achieve shared success
