- Work with a leading electrical engineering and switchboard manufacturer Short Description Atom Resources are seeking experienced Electrical Switchboard Testers to join a major data centre switchboard project in Western Sydney. This role will focus on testing completed switchboards, interpreting schematics, and ensuring systems meet quality and compliance standards before dispatch. Ideal for candidates with strong switchboard testing experience who are confident working independently in a fast-paced workshop environment. About The Client Our client is a well-established Australian electrical engineering and switchboard manufacturing business delivering complex power distribution and electrical infrastructure solutions across commercial, industrial, and mission-critical projects. With a growing pipeline of major projects, they are expanding their workshop team to support a significant data centre switchboard package in Western Sydney. About the Role This is a workshop-based Electrical Tester role responsible for testing completed switchboards prior to commissioning and dispatch. You will work closely with the workshop production team to ensure all switchboards meet project specifications, testing requirements, and safety standards. This role suits candidates with strong testing knowledge and the ability to interpret electrical schematics and identify faults efficiently. Duties
- Conduct testing of completed electrical switchboards
- Perform:
- Hi-Pot Testing
- Megger (Insulation Resistance) Testing
- Busbar Testing
- Read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
- Identify and troubleshoot faults or inconsistencies
- Record and complete testing documentation
- Work alongside workshop supervisors and fitters to resolve issues
- Ensure quality assurance and compliance standards are maintained Skills & Experience Essential
- Experience testing switchboards or industrial electrical systems
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics
- Experience conducting:
- Hi-Pot Testing
- Megger Testing
- Busbar Testing
- Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work independently
- White Card Highly Regarded:
- NSW Electrical Licence
- Previous experience in switchboard manufacturing environments
- Experience with data centre or critical infrastructure projects Culture
- Established and growing electrical engineering business
