The Urban Designer will join the Urban Design and Heritage team at an exciting time. The LGA is entering as phase of urban change. **In this role you will**:

- **Assist and/or provide assistance on strategic planning for improved urban design and, where necessary, to prepare urban design guidelines for projects within the Waverley Local Government Area.
- Act as project manager with planning, programming and coordination of projects to ensure that project outputs meet or exceed agreed goals.
- Develop project plans and strategies for the completion of major projects including identification of business resource requirements.
- Undertake technical and quality reviews of documentation prepared by the planning team to ensure that documentation and service levels meet or exceed client’s expectations.
- Foster client relationships and identify business opportunities.
- Grow, develop and mentor junior staff.

**About You**
- **A recognised tertiary qualification in urban design, architecture, and/or urban planning.
- Experience in working with multi-disciplinary teams, and involvement in urban planning processes.
- Experience in working with community groups.
- Strong graphic, written/oral communication and facilitation skills.
- Ability to produce high quality outcomes within established timeframes and with limited supervision.
- Proven ability to commission and manage consultants, including multi-disciplinary teams, to deliver successful and timely outcomes.
- Proven ability to liaise effectively between Council’s departments.
- Demonstrated experience in strategic planning, specifically environmental heritage, conservation and urban design.
