Head Chef | Hervé's Restaurant & Bar Lead the Kitchen of One of Brisbane's Most Distinctive Dining Destinations Hervé's is seeking an experienced, passionate and commercially minded Head Chef to lead our kitchen team and help shape the next chapter of our growing business. Located within Albion's Craft'd Grounds precinct, Hervé's is a refined French restaurant and events destination inspired by the culinary traditions of Southern France and the Basque region of Spain. We are known for elevated yet approachable dining, exceptional events and genuine hospitality. This is an exciting opportunity for a talented chef to take ownership of a well-established and highly regarded venue with a strong reputation, loyal clientele and significant growth opportunities across both restaurant and events. About the Role As Head Chef, you will lead all kitchen operations across restaurant service, private dining and premium events. You will work closely with ownership and front-of-house leadership to deliver a consistently exceptional guest experience while continuing to evolve the culinary direction of the venue. This is a hands-on leadership role suited to a chef who values quality, team culture, creativity and operational excellence in equal measure. What You'll Be Responsible For
- Leading and mentoring the kitchen team across all services
- Maintaining exceptional food quality, consistency and presentation
- Menu development and seasonal innovation
- Managing food costs, rostering and kitchen financial performance
- Driving a positive, professional and high-performing kitchen culture
- Ensuring compliance with food safety and workplace standards
- Collaborating with management on the continued growth of the business
- Delivering restaurant-quality cuisine across both à la carte dining and events About You We are looking for someone who:
- Has previous experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef in a quality-driven venue
- Has a minimum of 3 years' experience as a Head Chef in a quality-driven venue
- Has a genuine passion for French, European or produce-driven cuisine
- Is calm, organised and solutions-focused under pressure
- Leads with professionalism, respect and strong communication
- Is warm and personable
- Has valuable industry connections
- Understands both creative execution and commercial realities
- Takes pride in mentoring and developing junior chefs
