About The Role

BMA’s Hay Point Terminal is looking for a Terminal Operator to work on a Lifestyle Roster reporting to the Shift Supervisor, within the Port Production Department. This position mainly involves the secure and efficient operation of automated and semi‑automated equipment from coal train unloading, coal stacking through to ship loading, at the Coal Terminal.

Responsibilities

Demonstrated commitment to safety, health, the community and the workplace

Effectively operate and monitor automated and semi‑automated fixed plant

Work cooperatively within a motivated team to achieve safe production targets

Perform shift relief and day work operations, including housekeeping duties

About You

Experience in a port operation setting

Experience with fixed plant equipment and familiarity with automated equipment

Experience with bulk materials handling operations or similar

Mobile equipment experience desirable

Experience operating a ship loader highly desirable

Qualifications and/or experience with control room operations, electronics or automation desirable

Values‑driven, positive attitude, energetic and well‑developed interpersonal skills essential

Computer savvy with SAP experience and other BMA/BHP B operational systems an advantage

Ability to obtain and retain a Maritime Security Identification card (MSIC)
