About the Role Bowen Rail Company is growing, we are seeking an additional Operations Coordinator to join our Integrated Planning and Rail Operations Team based in our Rockhampton Office. Reporting to the Operations Planning Superintendent, you will be responsible for the execution of the above and below rail daily train plan requirements within the day of operations environment. This includes and is not limited to plan development, resource management, decision making, incident management, data capture and variance reporting, communication and rollingstock compliance. Key Accountabilities
- Safety Leadership: Set the standard for safety at Bowen Rail Company. Demonstrate visible safety leadership in line with the values.
- Execute schedules and monitor services to meet safety and operational requirements.
- Manage changes to service plans, rollingstock and resource allocations, customer requirements and impact of major disruptions.
- Ensure that all required systems are maintained to provide accurate information for communication and reporting.
- Advise customer/logistics areas as per the agreed process of any service disruptions to ensure customer service and to enable alternative arrangements.
- Liaise with relevant teams and external stakeholders regarding pathing, capacity and priority issues affecting service plans or delays caused by operational teams, eg Third Party Network, Mine, and Port.
- Pursue opportunities to prevent cancellations, replace lost services and add additional services during the day of operations.
- Monitor and arrange for the deployment of crews to meet operational demands.
- Attend and contribute to supply chain stakeholder forums as scheduled and/or required.
- Monitor and manage rollingstock compliance requirements ensuring fleet maintains fit-for-purpose status a develops plans coordinating instances of non-compliance. About You Core Capabilities
- Manages self with resilience and integrity, particularly in a changing workplace.
- Works collaboratively, communicates effectively, both written and verbal.
- Understands the requirements of the position and proactively works to deliver performance aligned outcomes. Essential
- 7 years in rail industry in above rail or below rail areas including but not limited to operations, or network control.
- Ability to work a 24/7 roster including weekends and public holidays.
- 2 years’ experience in train or network planning/ scheduling.
- Computer proficient (Advanced Microsoft Office, Systems).
- Excellent communication (oral and written) and professional presentation skills.
- Demonstrated technical experience with a train planning/scheduling system such as RACE/ViziRail or equivalent.
- Ability to commute across Bowen Rail Company site locations to support operational requirements. Desirable
- Trade or tertiary qualified in a related discipline (e.g., Cert IV Transport & Distribution, BA Supply Chain & Logistics).
