Casual / Part Time Landscaper (Bowral)

Park Proxi Hotel in Bowral, NSW is looking for a casual & part time landscape gardener / grounds person.

The property is a rural 4.5 star hotel set on an 18-hole golf course and the role involves working with the Golf Superintendent in the daily management of the golf grounds, gardens, hedges, fairways, trees and outdoor areas.

**Job Summary**: As a Landscape Gardener, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining outdoor spaces to enhance the aesthetic appeal of the property. Your primary focus will be on creating visually pleasing areas, well maintained through tasks such as planting, horticulture, irrigation, and general garden maintenance.

The role requires the ability to work outdoors and whilst part of a team often work unsupervised.

**Responsibilities**: **Installation and Implementation**:

- Execute landscape plans and managing areas by planting trees, shrubs, flowers, and other vegetation as directed.
- Install hardscape features, such as pathways, patios, small paths on the golf course and small retaining areas.
- Assist in managing irrigation systems.
- Collaborate with the team and hotel General Manager in working on projects of improvement as directed.

**Maintenance**:

- Conduct regular inspections to assess the health of plants and address issues like pests, diseases, or nutrient deficiencies.
- Perform pruning, weeding, and other necessary maintenance tasks to keep landscapes in optimal condition.
- Monitor and adjust irrigation systems to ensure efficient water usage.
- Assist in promoting best practise.

**Client Interaction**:

- Communicate effectively with Golf Superintendent ad GM to understand their preferences and address any concerns.
- Provide recommendations for ongoing landscape improvements and enhancements.

**Equipment Operation**:

- Operate and maintain various tools and equipment, including lawnmowers, trimmers, and irrigation systems. Training will be provided.
- Ensure that all equipment is used safely and maintained in good working condition.

**Team Collaboration**:

- Work collaboratively with your team on a daily basis.
- Coordinate tasks as part of the team in planning and executing duties daily.

Qualifications:

- Proven experience in landscaping or general gardening.
- Knowledge of plants, horticulture, and landscaping principles.
- Proficiency in operating landscaping equipment or the ability to be trained.
- Strong physical stamina and ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Creative flair and an eye for design.
- Formal education in landscaping is an advantage but we are also willing to work with the right person in providing mentoring and training.
