Company Description Southern Highlands Private Hospital is an acute medical and surgical hospital, owned and operated by Ramsay Health Care. A 73 bed private hospital co-located with Bowral and District Hospital, Southern Highlands Private Hospital provides an extensive range of onsite medical, surgical, rehabilitation, oncology and palliative care services for the community of the Southern Highlands and beyond to the regional and rural areas. The Hospital has 4 operating theatres, a gastroenterology procedure room, day surgery unit, 1st, 2nd and 3rd stage recovery, hydrotherapy pool, gymnasium, along with ward accommodation for medical, surgical, rehabilitation and palliative patients in a combination of private and shared rooms. We are now hiring casual General Services Officers! Job Description Your new role is responsible in providing a safe, clean Ward/Unit environment in accordance with Infection Control and Occupational Safety and Health regulations. Under direction and supervision of Environmental Service Coordinator, you will provide effective support contributing to the operational cleanliness, infection control, and staff, patient, & visitor safety. Responsibilities include:
- Highest standards of cleanliness to all areas, including wards and operating theatres.
- Ensure all equipment utilised on shifts is cleaned, restocked and stored in the appropriate storage areas
- Waste removal tasks
- Working in a friendly and supportive manner at all times
- Adhere to all infection control guidelines and principles. About You
- Prior experience in a cleaning role within a healthcare setting is desirable.
- Highly reliable, motivated and positive attitude with meticulous attention to detail
- Availability to work morning / afternoon / evening and weekend shifts required.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a team structure and independently as required.
- Understanding of Workplace Health and Safety policies and procedures.
- Proven experience with hazard identification.
- Understanding of hygiene principles.
- Flexible to work a rotating roster with a variety of shifts available [Desirable]. Your Skills and Experience To succeed in this role, you will be a reliable team player with a positive attitude and a solid commitment to patient care and food safety. You will also demonstrate:
- A solid understanding of food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety practices.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a friendly and professional manner.
- The ability to work efficiently under pressure and manage time effectively.
- Previous experience in a hospital or commercial kitchen setting (highly regarded but not essential).
- Flexibility to work across a 7-day roster.
- A willingness to embrace and promote Ramsay Health Care’s core values.
