**The Opportunity**
We are seeking General Services Officer to work across both our kitchen and domestic services at Southern Highlands Private Hospital. This opportunity will have you being a part of a brilliant team of people responsible for providing the highest standards of cleanliness to all areas of the hospital. You will also be working across our face-paced catering team responsible for all meal preparation and delivery across the hospital.
- Your responsibilities will include:_
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness to all areas, including wards and operating theatres
- Ensuring all equipment utilised on shifts is cleaned, restocked and stored in the appropriate storage areas
- Working in a friendly and supportive manner at all times
- Maintaining communication networks with nursing staff and other stakeholders ensuring quality clinical outcomes are achieved
- Setting of patient meal trays and serving our patients throughout the Hospital whilst maintaining hygienic food practices.
- Washing up and maintaining a clean working area and following safety practices.
- Assisting the broader team as required
- Stock management
- Availability across a 7-day roster, including morning (6am starts) and afternoon (8pm finish) shifts
**Skills and Experience**
- Previous experience in a kitchen or hospital environment but not essential.
- Understanding of food safety and hygiene principles
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a strong customer focus
- Compliance with HACCP, Food Safety and Workplace, Health and Safety and Infection Control
- Certificate II or Certificate III in Hospitality (desirable)
- Have experience in cleaning services
- Be a team player and love to work within a large team
- Demonstrate attention to detail and take pride in your work
