Bartender (Box Hill)

Jin 8 is a small cocktail bar opening on Rutland Road in July. The concept is built around Shanxi province in northern China and the spirits that come from it — Fenjiu in particular, the historic explicit baijiu from Fenyang. The signature list is eight Fenjiu-based cocktails sitting alongside classics. The vibe is intimate and considered: ambient music, no happy hour, no specials. People come for the drinks and the story. We're hiring one to two bartenders to open the bar with us. More about the venue at jin8bar.com. What we need from you
- Current Victorian RSA
- Right to work in Australia
- At least one year on a cocktail bar (independent or small-venue preferred)
- Available Friday and Saturday evenings, finishing 1am
- Sound classic-cocktail fundamentals — build, stir, shake, dilution
- Calm, presentable, on your feet for a six-hour shift What we'd love
- Any experience with baijiu or Fenjiu, or genuine curiosity to learn the category
- Mandarin or Cantonese, given the neighbourhood
