About the role
- To coordinate the management, service and planning of waste and recycling services across Redcliffe Hospital, Community and Oral Health sites and other Metro North sites in line with the Metro North Waste and Recycling Policy and Procedure
- Provide advice and recommendations to all staff in relation to waste management and recycling within their areas.
- Hold overall responsibility for the effective management and operation of waste and recycling services at Redcliffe Hospital, and Community and Oral Health sites.
- Provide coordinator services to other northern sites throughout the HHS when required, across the range of site locations.
About you This successful applicant will carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
- Actively manage existing waste and recycling services, and implementation of new services to ensure that the site's operational needs are met, and then review on an ongoing basis. This will involve regular collaboration between the site users, waste contractors, waste officers and management to ensure optimal services are always in place to cater to the waste volumes at any one point in time.
- To develop, implement and maintain the waste management strategy and services for the sites that you are responsible for.
- Plan, implement and manage waste and recycling services for during the construction phase of the Redcliffe Hospital Redevelopment.
- Identify and investigate new opportunities to implement circular economy principles throughout your allocated sites, forming partnerships with external suppliers and recycling facilities.
- Formulate and implement appropriate initiatives in support of environmental and waste management strategies.
