Job Description Our Buildings & Places team based in Brisbane is looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to support the continued growth of the business. This opportunity allows you to develop your experience in delivering multi‑disciplinary projects across the defence and data‑centre space.
Day in the Role
Utilise your extensive design experience to facilitate high‑quality and cost‑effective work on a variety of projects varying in size, scope and sector.
Lead mechanical designs and delivery for major client projects, including participating in technical reviews while working collaboratively with the broader team.
Mentor and guide junior engineers within the local and national team, performing quality control reviews of design calculations and drawings.
Work effectively within multi‑disciplinary engineering teams on major projects, contributing to interdisciplinary reviews of project deliverables.
Australian citizenship is required. Previous or current defence clearance is highly regarded.
Qualifications
Experience working for a Building Services consultancy or significant design experience as a Senior Engineer in the Mechanical Services field.
Proven knowledge and experience in a technical design‑focused HVAC/Mechanical Engineering role.
Demonstrable design experience across defence and data‑centre projects.
A track record in client management skills, project delivery, and the ability to manage project priorities while communicating with internal and external stakeholders on key deadlines and deliverables.
Use of tertiary education (BEng in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering) alongside understanding of Australian Building Services Projects and Standards to impart technical knowledge to clients, junior engineers and broader teams on major projects across Australia.
