The Merchant Hotel Brisbane is in the final stages of an exciting renovation, and we're looking for friendly, professional Casual Receptionists / Guest Service Agents to join our pre‑opening team. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a hotel launch and play a key role in delivering exceptional first impressions and guest experiences. About the Role As the face of the hotel, you will be responsible for welcoming guests, managing reservations, and ensuring a smooth and memorable stay from check‑in to check‑out. Your ability to provide warm, efficient service will be key to our success. Key Responsibilities

- Greet and welcome guests in a friendly and professional manner
- Manage check‑ins, check‑outs, and reservations
- Handle guest enquiries, requests, and complaints promptly
- Process payments and maintain accurate guest accounts
- Coordinate with housekeeping and maintenance teams to ensure room readiness
- Maintain a clean and organised front desk area
- Assist with general administrative duties as required About You

- Previous experience in a hotel reception or customer service role preferred
- Minimum 1‑2 years of customer service experience required
- Robust communication and interpersonal skills
- High level of organisation and attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure
- Flexible availability across a 7‑day roster, including weekends, evenings, and public holidays
- Must be available to work mixed day and evening shifts
- Experience with hotel PMS systems (e.g. RMS, Opera, or similar) is advantageous What We Offer
