**Key Responsibilities**
- **Fabrication & Assembly**:
- Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics to fabricate and assemble metal structures.
- Use tools such as welders, grinders, cutting torches, and other machinery to cut, shape, and join metals.
- **Welding & Cutting**:
- Perform various welding techniques including MIG, TIG, stick, and arc welding.
- Use oxy-acetylene cutting equipment to cut and shape metal components.
- **Maintenance & Repair**:
- Conduct routine maintenance checks and repairs on existing metal structures and equipment.
- Perform repairs by welding, riveting, bolting, or replacing defective parts.
- **Quality Control**:
- Ensure all welding, fabrication, and assembly work meets company and industry quality standards.
- Test completed systems for structural integrity and proper functioning. Would be an advantage
- **Safety & Compliance**:
- Follow strict safety protocols when working with heavy machinery, high temperatures, and potentially hazardous materials. Over head cranes.
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) including gloves and eye protection.
- Adhere to relevant industry regulations and company standards.
**Key Skills and Qualifications**
- Proficiency in welding techniques (MIG, TIG, arc, etc.)
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
- Strong mechanical and problem-solving skills.
- Physical stamina and ability to work in challenging environments (e.g., confined spaces, at heights).
- Knowledge of workplace safety standards and practices.
- Excellent attention to detail and precision in metalworking.
**Education and Experience**
- **Required**: Trade certification as a Boilermaker or Welder.
- **Preferred**: boilermaking or metal fabrication. But would look at 4th year
- **Experience**: At least 2-3 years of hands-on experience in a related role.
**Work Workplace**
Boilermakers work in various settings, including industrial plants, workshops, construction sites, The work involves exposure to noise, heat, and potentially hazardous materials, making adherence to safety practices essential.
**Physical Requirements**
- Ability to lift heavy materials and equipment.
- Capacity to stand, crouch, and work in various physical positions for extended periods. No previse back injuries.
