Solution Architect - Talent Pool (Brisbane)

The Department of Health are excited to welcome applications for a Solution Architect to join our Corporate Enterprise Solutions team! The focus of Corporate Enterprise Solutions is to provide solutions and services that support Queensland Health’s Enterprise Corporate Applications and supporting payroll transactional processes. This application suite includes the largest integrated rostering and SAP payroll solution in the public sector and the SAP S/4HANA finance, business and logistics solution and management workplace (S/4HANA solution). About the role: As a Solution Architect, you will manage the identification and delivery of improvement work packages to implemented system and business processes for the largest integrated rostering and SAP payroll solution in the public sector and the SAP S/4HANA finance, business and logistics solution and management environment (S/4HANA solution). The purpose of the position is to ensure strategy, design and architectural integrity activities are completed to meet client and business requirements. Your key responsibilities include:
- Provide leadership and direction in the design and management of solutions including risk and issue identification and management.
- Analyse business requirements and system specifications and provide strategic expertise to staff and management to ensure specifications are aligned to business requirements.
- Analyse and solve complex system and technological problems to provide innovative solutions to business requirements in the delivery of support to QH and completion of project work in required timeframes.
- Complete system architecture and design specifications, of solutions supported by QH and associated documentation in compliance with relevant standards.
- Consult with and provide expert advice to the business owners in relation to ongoing enhancement and development of the corporate system applications. Role fit: The ideal candidate brings proven experience delivering complex SAP solutions across integrated rostering, payroll, finance, and supply‑chain environments, including within the Queensland Government. They excel at translating complex SAP technical concepts into clear, outcome‑focused business solutions and have extensive architectural capability, including coaching and mentoring other architects while guiding cross‑functional teams to design and manage integrated systems. Strong leadership skills are essential, with the ability to lead team leaders and support high‑performing teams in delivering quality client services. Exceptional written and verbal communication enables them to advise, consult, and negotiate with stakeholders on complex strategic issues while building trusted relationships in environments undergoing change. They will also demonstrate experience designing and presenting solution artefacts and maintain a solid understanding of current industry trends, including systems integration and service‑oriented architecture.
