- Merge Dating Brisbane (Primary Focus) Melbourne | Wollongong | Coffs Harbour | Orange | Blue Mountains | Western Sydney | Cronulla | Central Coast Merge Dating is one of Australia's largest singles events companies, hosting fun, relaxed events that help people meet face-to-face in the real world. We're launching in Brisbane this July and are currently building our local hosting team ahead of launch. Successful applicants will help host our Brisbane launch events and ongoing events as we continue to grow in the region. - welcoming guests, creating great energy in the room, helping people connect and ensuring everyone has a fantastic experience. What You'll Be Doing
- Acting as the lead host and face of the event, creating energy and facilitating the evening
- Welcoming and checking in guests
- Delivering a confident welcome speech
- Running icebreaker activities
- Helping guests mingle and meet new people
- Taking photos and videos of the event
- Managing door sales and ticket payments
- Liaising with venue staff
- Ensuring drink tokens and POS materials are organised
- Monitoring guest behaviour and ensuring our Code of Conduct is followed
- Escalating issues to venue security when required
- Ensuring the event is set up correctly and runs smoothly
- Creating a fun, welcoming and inclusive atmosphere
- Acting as the face of Merge Dating throughout the event
- Successful applicants will complete a trial shift alongside an experienced Merge host before hosting events independently
- although each event is usually always 2 hosts About You
- Confident speaking to groups of people and using a microphone
- Comfortable leading an event and taking initiative when required
- Friendly, approachable and skilled
- Comfortable starting conversations with strangers and bringing people together
- Highly organised and reliable
- Able to think on your feet and solve problems calmly
- Available some evenings and weekends
- Experience in events, hospitality, sales, teaching, customer service, promotions or content creation is highly regarded, although not essential — personality, confidence and energy are most important Pay & Hours
- Casual position
- $35.88 per hour
- Most shifts are held in the evenings and on weekends
- Typical shifts range from 3-4 hours Brisbane applicants: Availability for our Brisbane launch events on 2-5 July 2026 is essential. Successful applicants will be trained during launch week and considered for ongoing hosting opportunities as Merge expands in Brisbane. Most hosts work on a casual, event-by-event basis, with opportunities for additional shifts as we continue to grow in each region. There may be opportunities for additional responsibilities for the right candidates, including venue inspections, venue scouting and content creation. How To Apply Please send:
