Job Title: Technical Specialist (Technical Lead / Solution Designer)
Contract: Initial 6-Month Contract with possible extensions
Location: Fortitude Valley, Brisbane (Hybrid working arrangements)
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Technical Specialist/Technical Lead/Solution Designer to join a fast‐paced delivery setting, supporting a portfolio of initiatives across a large enterprise landscape.
Our client is a large Queensland Government–owned corporation in the utilities sector, operating within a complex enterprise environment.
It supports a diverse technology landscape and delivers a robust pipeline of digital initiatives.
This is a hands‐on role focused on solution design and design assurance, working closely with Project Managers, Business Analysts, Architects, Developers, and SMEs to ensure high‐quality, fit‐for‐purpose technical outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Produce architecture assessments, high‐level designs (HLDs), and detailed solution designs
Support design governance and approval processes
Collaborate with cross‐functional teams to translate business needs into technical solutions
Ensure designs align with enterprise standards, roadmaps, and best practices
Contribute to the successful delivery of multiple concurrent initiatives
Requirements
Proven experience in a Technical Specialist / Technical Lead / Solution Design role
Strong background in design documentation and technical assessments
Comfortable working across applications, integration, and infrastructure domains
Ability to engage with SMEs and clearly translate technical concepts into structured design artefacts
Experience in enterprise digital environments, ideally supporting project‐based delivery
Solid stakeholder engagement and communication skills
Exposure to a broad enterprise technology stack is highly desirable, including Integration API Gateway, ESB, Azure cloud, Asset Management, CRM, OS and Corporate systems.
Must be based in Queensland and eligible to work locally
