We are seeking a National Clinical Coding Auditor to join our Payor Relations team, supporting the accuracy and integrity of clinical coding across Ramsay Health Care. In this role, you will respond to external payor audits, support internal coding initiatives, and help drive continuous improvement in coding accuracy and compliance. You will work closely with hospitals, revenue cycle teams, and payor auditors to ensure high-quality coded data that underpins funding and reporting outcomes. This is a collaborative role that blends technical clinical coding expertise with audit management and stakeholder engagement across a complex healthcare environment. Please note we are open to candidates based in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, or Perth. What You’ll Do You will provide expert clinical coding and audit support to ensure accuracy, compliance, and continuous improvement across coding and revenue processes. Key Accountabilities Include
- Respond to external clinical coding and DRG audits accurately and within required timeframes.
- Contribute to internal audit programs to ensure ACS compliance and best practice coding standards.
- Analyse audit findings and identify coding, documentation, and billing improvement opportunities.
- Support Payor Assurance and Revenue Cycle teams in resolving audit queries and disputes.
- Build strong relationships with payor auditors and internal stakeholders to support resolution of issues.
- Reporting of audit findings to hospital teams and other relevant workstreams.
- Support education initiatives to improve coding accuracy and documentation quality.
- Analyse audit data and prepare reports to support compliance and performance improvement.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Australian Coding Standards, DRGs, and relevant billing rules.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across coding, documentation, and revenue processes. What You’ll Bring You are an experienced clinical coding professional with strong audit capability and a deep understanding of Australian Coding Standards and hospital revenue processes.
- Strong clinical coding expertise in ICD-10-AM, ACHI, and ACS standards.
- Experience in clinical coding, coding audit, or health information management.
- Understanding of DRG classification and hospital billing processes (private hospital experience highly regarded).
- Experience analysing audit data and identifying trends or improvement opportunities.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders.
- Ability to build collaborative relationships with clinical, coding, and payor teams.
- High attention to detail with a strong focus on accuracy and compliance.
- Commitment to continuous improvement and coding integrity.
- Relevant qualification in Health Information Management, Medical Record Administration, or equivalent (Certificate IV or higher).
- External clinical coding audit qualification or experience desirable. What We Offer
