Description
Your Work Shapes the World Whether it be groundbreaking products, best-in-class solutions, or creating a lifelong career, you can do the work that matters at Caterpillar. With a 100-year legacy of quality and innovation and 150 locations in countries around the world, your impact spans the globe. Caterpillar is seeking 2 x Condition Monitoring Advisors to join the growing team in Brisbane. This role is ideal for an experienced Diesel Mechanic from a mining background looking to step off the tools into a technical, data-driven role. Job Purpose: Use data and real-world equipment knowledge to analyse machine health and deliver clear, actionable recommendations to Caterpillar dealers and customers. By combining the five elements of condition monitoring, you'll help reduce downtime, lower operating costs, improve equipment availability, and prevent failures before they occur. Your work will directly enhance customer performance, strengthen relationships, and support the growth of Caterpillar parts and service solutions. What will you be doing: As a Condition Monitoring Advisor in our Fleet Monitoring Centre, you'll use a combination of equipment knowledge, data, and diagnostics to assess machine health and provide clear, actionable recommendations to customers and dealers. You'll work across the five key elements of condition monitoring including: S•O•S fluid analysis, inspections, machine data (Product Link/VIMS), repair history, and site conditions, to identify issues early and help prevent failures before they occur. Key Responsibilities:
- Analyse and interpret data across multiple condition monitoring sources to identify emerging faults and trends.
- Combine (correlate) the five elements of condition monitoring to form accurate, practical recommendations.
- Provide clear, value-driven equipment recommendations to Caterpillar dealers and customers.
- Use Caterpillar systems and digital tools to prioritise and assess machine health data.
- Gather and work with data from internal systems, dealers, customers, and site sources.
- Contribute to tracking, managing, and resolving equipment-related issues and leads.
- Prepare concise reports with recommended actions (daily/monthly).
- Communicate findings and recommendations both verbally and in writing.
- Engage with dealers, customers, and internal teams to support ongoing equipment performance.
- Build strong working relationships and act as a trusted technical advisor on equipment health.
- You'll diagnose and troubleshoot equipment issues remotely, using data and systems instead of working on the tools. What we are looking for: We're looking for someone who has worked on the tools and understands mining equipment in real-world environments.
- Experience in product support and/or engineering fields is desirable; however, a trade-qualified Diesel Mechanic with mining experience would be highly regarded.
- Strong customer service/contact experience, communication, multi-tasking, and organisational skills are essential to success in this position.
- Possess the ability to work and provide direction in a team environment, and work with diverse groups of customers and business partners.
- Position requires initiative and ability to resolve issues either individually or through appropriate team guidance.
- Confident using computers, systems, and data to analyse and troubleshoot issues remotely.
- Solid understanding of engines, powertrain, and hydraulic systems, Product Link™, VIMS, inspection process, equipment lifecycle planning, S•O•SSM Services, and the Service Information System is desirable. Compensation & Benefits: Competitive salary based on degree and professional industry working experience. The Total Rewards package includes:
- Competitive remuneration package
- Attractive Bonus and Share options
- Career development with global prospects
- A strong commitment to safety and your wellbeing
- An inclusive workplace culture focused on quality, customer service and the setting
- A commitment to diversity and inclusion, equal opportunity, and equal outcome
- SMART spending APP
- The opportunity to do truly meaningful work in a supportive, constructive culture that encourages you to make the most of your talents.
