Role Overview
Powerdata Group Consulting is seeking two experienced Business Analysts (APS6 equivalent) to support the delivery of complex, technology-enabled capabilities within a secure Federal Government environment.
This role operates at the intersection of business and technical delivery, requiring strong capability in requirements elicitation, stakeholder engagement, and the production of high-quality, developer-ready artefacts. You will contribute to the design and sustainment of systems across cyber security and cloud-based platforms, working within Agile multidisciplinary team
Key Responsibilities
- Engage with business and technical stakeholders to elicit, analyse, prioritise, and validate requirements aligned to strategic objectives
- Facilitate workshops and discussions to drive alignment and informed decision-making
- Translate business needs into explicit, structured, and testable artefacts suitable for Agile delivery Produce and maintain high-quality documentation including:
- Business Requirements Documents (BRDs)
- Process models and workflows
- Use cases and user stories
- Operating models and traceability matrices
- Maintain end-to-end traceability from requirements through design, delivery, and testing Support delivery teams by:
- Developing test cases and test artefacts
- Supporting system integration testing (SIT) and user acceptance testing (UAT)
- Contributing to governance, audit, and accreditation documentation (including ATO)
- Manage and maintain artefacts within Jira and Confluence, ensuring accuracy and currency
- Analyse operational and performance data to support continuous improvement and future state design
- Collaborate effectively within Agile, multidisciplinary teams in fast-paced delivery environments ?️ Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum 5+ years Business Analysis experience on complex ICT programs
- Proven experience in requirements elicitation, documentation, and validation Strong experience producing BA artefacts including:
- Use cases
- Process models
- Personas
- Test plans and traceability
- Experience working in Agile delivery environments
- Strong stakeholder engagement and facilitation skills across technical and non-technical audiences
- Experience with Jira and Confluence for managing requirements and documentation
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities in high-pressure environments Requirements

1.Business Analysis Capability (Minimum 5 years’ experience) Demonstrated delivery of high‑quality, end‑to‑end business analysis outcomes in complex environments. Evidence includes rigorous stakeholder engagement; clear, structured, and testable requirements; and full traceability from business need through design, controls, and testing. Applies data‑driven analysis to inform decisions and risk management. Produces and governs documentation that is fit for purpose, maintainable, and audit‑ready. Supports system accreditation activities, including development of security artefacts such as system descriptions, control mappings, and risk documentation. Translates complex technical information into clear, concise outputs for varied audiences and provides sound advice on methodologies, tools, and techniques aligned to context, risk, and delivery objectives.
2.Demonstrated ability to produce high‑quality business analysis artefacts that are clear, structured, and fit for purpose. Selects and applies appropriate artefact types—such as requirements documentation, process models, use cases, operating models, business cases, and analysis plans—to support understanding, decision‑making, and delivery. Ensures outputs are consistent, testable, and aligned to standards, with sufficient detail to support traceability, assurance, and audit requirements. Structures complex information into concise, usable formats and uplifts existing documentation to improve quality, coherence, and maintainability. Uses productivity tools effectively, with tool choice driven by context.
3.Demonstrated ability to communicate complex business and technical information clearly and influence outcomes. Identifies and engages stakeholders, builds effective working relationships, and manages differing perspectives to achieve alignment.
