About the Department of Education:
The Strategic Communication & Engagement (SCE) branch is responsible for the department's corporate communications, sponsorship and events as well as media and social media. Services provided by SCE ensure that the department has a strategic corporate communications framework and consistent approach to engaging with schools, members of the community, the media, business, and other government agencies.
Your Role:
Responsibilities include:
Lead and manage the planning, research, editing and publication of a variety of communications documents including media releases, responses and statements, materials for publications and briefing material, which present a positive image of the department.
Identify emerging strategic issues that may impact on the activities of the branch and the department and coordinate the development of management approaches to ensure client expectations are met.
Participate in the strategic and business planning that underpins the branch in order to achieve the delivery of the department's corporate communications.
Proactively seek positive news about the department's programs, initiatives and activities and promote these to the media.
Liaise and consult with senior government executives, officers at all levels, industry, the media and the public and offer strategic media and issues management advice.
