What your role is As a Team Lead Engineer in our Queensland Energy Team, you'll guide purposeful work that supports the future of the energy sector, collaborating with a diverse multidisciplinary team to explore integrated solutions, offer thoughtful perspectives, and partner with clients to build a more sustainable world. What you'll be doing Leading and empowering a diverse, high‐performing team – guide and support specialists who help connect renewable generation, storage and hybrid projects to the NEM. Providing trusted grid advisory services – help clients navigate connection strategy, generator performance standards, system strength considerations and registration, with a focus on practical, inclusive problem‐solving. Driving excellence in power system modelling – oversee use of industry‐standard tools (PSS(R)E, PSCAD, PowerFactory and OEM models) while coaching the team to build capability and confidence. Empowering energy transformation – work with purpose alongside clients and colleagues to deliver projects that contribute to a cleaner, more reliable and more equitable energy future. Collaborating across disciplines – partner with engineering, commercial, digital, advisory and environmental teams to co‐create solutions to complex system needs. Championing quality and continuous improvement – refine modelling approaches, uplift capability and foster a learning culture that supports career development. Supporting growth and wellbeing – mentor team members, promote inclusive practices and contribute to business development through authentic relationship‐building. Build a high‐performing power systems team through strategic recruitment of highly skilled individuals and in‐house talent development. What you'll bring Experience in power systems or grid connection – 15+ years in consulting, utilities, developers or operations or a suitable mix that aligns with grid advisory and modelling work. Strong capability in grid connection modelling – experience with PSS(R)E, PSCAD, PowerFactory or equivalent tools, and an understanding of generation control systems. A cooperative and supportive leadership style – engage confidently with clients and colleagues, value diverse perspectives and create environments where people do their best work. Relevant electrical engineering qualifications – and RPEQ registration (or willingness to obtain).
